All characters; places, themes are fictitious and created by Dan Buchert. All art work, characters and writing are owned by Dan Buchert solely. The comic strip is based around the Say Unkel fishing supply shop located in Pungentville, DownEast USA.

A brief Say Unkel comic strip synopsis:

The Say Unkel comic strip takes place in Pungentville Cove, DownEast USA. 

Pungentville is a sleepy inlet where everything is fishy. 

Our main character is Tut Tuttle a youngster who works at his grandfathers Fly n Bait shop called Say Unkel. Ted Tuttle, Tut’s grandfather and ‘Unk’ to his friends and family sells fishing supplies, topical gossip, and nearly works a full day. Ted would rather be fishing or goofing about with his friend Percy Gulch. Tut has many friends among the picturesque scenery of Pungentville Cove. Most of Tut’s friends are animals from the Pungentville Cove. Orvel, a wood duck, is Tut’s constant sidekick. Orvel, a better than scratch golfer and lover of anything from the links. Tinker, the local beaver and head engineer of the Pungentville Cove water ways. Young Tut has a secret admirer named Katrina. She is better than Tut in most things and tries to winTut’s love and friendship but hides her prowess. Tut is just too shy to embrace her advances. 

Themes of Say Unkel cover fly fishing, environmental issues, sports, music, political topics, love, family dynamics, history, and just about anything silly. 

Some of the main goals for creating these strips and art work is to teach about outdoor environmental issues pro & con, Fly fishing, History, Current events, Music, Sports and the general silliness for the sake of humor about those topics.

Ted ‘Unk’ Tuttle: owner of Say Unkel fishing supplies called

Say Unkel Fly n Bait shop

Tut Tuttle: Our main character. One cool kid, interested in all of life's offerings. A thoughtful lad curious about most things

 and his friends.

Orvel:  Wood duck, scratch golfer, fighter against all litter bugs and poor manors.

Tinker: North American beaver, world’s best engineer. Too busy to talk about silly social issues. 

Brownie: Brown trout, part time psychologist, part time environmentalist and part time fish spotter. His group of fishes are Brookie and Rainbow and their band of swimmers. 

Percy: Clam digger and Unk’s best friend, observer and history buff.

Katrina: Tut’s friend and his secret admirer. Smarty pant.

Scooter: The older kid, big time bully, nudge, wearer of T shirts, shorts and a knit hat.

Ringo: 5 Spotted Beetle, sometimes the punch in lines.

Huey: Dragonfly fighter jet and eater of all mosquitos. 

Ludwig: Seagull Wise guy 1

Rogers: Seagull Wise guy 2

Ronkulas: Raccoon, stink fest varmint, stealer of everything, eater of anything.

Many other characters come in & out of the strip.
